Guys, yesterday was an intense day. One of those days that makes it really hard to sit down and finish a travel guide when so much stuff is happening around the world and our personal lives. But I still wanted to join the link up. Specially after our sucessful one year anniversary where so many of you joined in (42 to be exact!! is it a record?). Plus, I had something really excited to share with you guys as well. So I decided to take part on Sarah’s expat chat tag post. I kept my answers short and sweet with lots of posts and pictures to look back to!
Psssst.. scroll down for the giveaway instructions!
Where were you born, where did you grow up and where do you currently live?
I was born in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico! That is where I grew up and went to college. I currently live in the land of fries and waffles, Belgium!
What made you leave your home country?
LOOOOVE and the fact that I was young and thought I knew it all and believed everything was easy.
What type of reactions do you get when you meet new people and tell them where you are from?
Pretty much something like this meme:
What was the easiest/hardest part in adjusting to your new country?
Easiest: building a home and getting settled in. Hardest: making friends. isn’t always though?
Images, words or sounds that sum up the expat experience you’ve had so far.
Image: the endless forests. Words: “Life starts at the end of your comfort zone”. Sounds: Adele, waterfalls and airplanes.
Your favorite food or drink item in your new country?
Slovenia: Wine and Prazen krompir!! Belgium: Andalouse sauce and waffles, of course!
What’s the one thing you said “yes” to in your new city that you wouldn’t say “yes” to, back home?
Hmmm, too soon to tell for Belgium. But when I was living in Slovenia, I was surprised by how much I ended up loving hiking. That is something I would definitely not try at home that often!
What do you enjoy most doing in your new country?
The diversity, the beautiful green parks, the amazing shopping options (whoops!), the fact that Amazon prime is available here.
Do you think you will ever move home for good?
Well technically we are home in Belgium now. But to my hometown? I don’t know! If an opportunity comes along, why not!
From Bruxelles with love,
